Liver Detoxification

Toxins are absorbed into our bloodstream by inhalation, ingestion and passing through our skin. They are then broken down by the kidneys and eliminated via urine, feces and exhalation. However, because the liver manages waste purification, it is directly burdened to remove these toxins from the body. Thanks to this organ, many toxins are removed from the blood before they have a chance to cause us illness or “dis-ease”. Unfortunately, our polluted environment and low quality of food weigh heavily on the body, causing a slue of negative bodily, emotional and mental effects. Not only that, toxins are carried out of the liver and gallbladder by bile, but bile can be recycled by the body up to 10 times! Because of this, many toxins are also reabsorbed back into the body. This is where coffee enemas come in to play: coffee enemas improve bile flow and prevent bile salts and toxins from being reabsorbed into the intestinal walls and blood stream.

Coffee enemas assist the body’s ability to produce a powerful antioxidant called glutathione. This can also be achieved by consuming dietary supplements or by getting IV injections. However, consumers are realizing the use of coffee enemas promotes safe, effective and natural results, as it encourages the body’s own production of the cleansing compound, glutathione. Once held in the colon, the coffee solution moves through the intestinal wall and into the liver. As the coffee enters the liver, it stimulates that organ, the gallbladder, the kidneys, the bloodstream, the entire body!

To further enhance a liver detox, eat liver cleansing foods! Apples, artichoke, grapefruit, lemon and walnuts are an example of a few, liver-cleansing foods. And, of course, foods containing fat, chemicals, sugar and drinking alcohol should be avoided during a liver detox, as they create stress to the organ. (Really, the whole body) Herbs such as dandelion and milk thistle (choleretic herbs) also offer bile stimulation and digestion of fat. However, they don’t prevent the body from reabsorbing bile salts and toxins back into the body. Drinking 6-8 glasses of water, eating fresh fruits and vegetables, avoiding fried foods, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, dependency of prescription drugs, cigarettes and extreme air pollutants such as chemical fumes will all help to keep the body functioning well.

Editors Note:

Doing too many enemas per week can result in an electrolyte imbalance or deficiency. In fact, that result can occur after just one coffee enema, if the body is not immediately replenished with fresh fruits and vegetables. That is why Purelife follows, supports and highly recommends the Gerson method. For more information on how to properly do coffee enemas and the Gerson method, please contact Purelife! We are happy to answer all of your questions and help you on the road to better health!

The after-effects of coffee enemas are improvement of mood and mental clarity, clean energy and the ability to relax and rest well at night, just to name a few!
